Carré Mainzer Landstraße
Office and residential buildingThe Carré in Frankfurt’s Mainzer Landstrasse, lies close to the Finance district, and the Conference Centre, in an area that is characterised by a mixture of indistrial, commercial and residential use. The largest part of the 8300 square metre site is filled with an office complex, comprising six independent units. Four of these six-storey units are positioned centrally, in windmill fashion around a glazed atrium. On the gable of the units there are alternatively, two-storey enclosing, framing elements, or green spaces. Thus, alternatively offset office tracts meander with generous green areas. The six-storey offices allow for flexible use and sub-division: combi-zones, twin-corridor solutions, and open-plan office spaces, are all possible. In Frankenallee, a six-storey apartment building is a pleasant transition between the offices and the older residential buildings. The maisonettes are L-shaped, and so, intersect in section. On the north side, a public green space is connected to the building, thereby creating a pleasant, natural atmosphere for the entire development.
