T-Ray

Leather armchair and sofa
»Square and diagonal, volume and area combine to form a vibrant figure. «

Manufacturer Walter Knoll set clear-cut specifications for a new product: It ought to be a large, soft cushion to sit on held by a slender outer structure. The T-Ray armchair stands in a product line of cubic armchairs with a wealth of tradition, a line being interpreted in a new way by Hadi Teherani. Volume and area combine to form a striking figure. The geometric shape provides for a comfortable seating experience via distinctive folds of the finely crafted frame with armrests that widen towards the rear. As intended, the generously sized soft cushion contributes to seating comfort. A surprising feature for the user is the armchair’s movability, because it seems to float on a nearly invisible rotary turntable.
