Silver chair

Office chair series
»The first office chair of the 21st century.«Hadi Teherani

Until now office chairs were either ergonomical or aesthetically well engineered. Fulfilling design standards as extensively as this had been done in the private sphere seemed hardly possible at the office. The mechanics, levers and casters of an office chair led incommensurate lives of their own before Hadi Teherani brought the worlds of engineers and designers together again with Silver for Interstuhl. Annoying individual parts were turned into well-thought-out components of a design-engendered whole. The development of the Silver office chair resulted in seven new patents. As Teherani puts it: “The goal was to have the technical complexity of Silver become invisible and achieve the poetic plane of perfected seating.” Besides an office chair, swivel stool and conference chair, the logically structured collection meanwhile includes additional furniture for the executive workplace and conference room as well. Using high-grade materials such as aluminium, glass or wood along with patented technologies, the programme opens up new options in office design, all the way to the individually manufactured model.

From the fashionable sets for “Dr. No” and “Goldfinger” to “Casino Royale” 45 years later, the brands associated with the Bond films always reflected the absolute best in contemporary interiors and design. Authoritative designs were showcased, and “Quantum of Solace” does nothing to set itself apart. The distinctive chairs from the Silver line are seen in the setting for the newly gleaming MI6 headquarters.
