Rheinblick

Wide open to vistas along the riverbank promenade with their outdoor areas skilfully screened off from one another, the 135 flats are directly linked to the Rhine and the local centre of Uerdingen, a district of the city of Krefeld. The “Rheinblick” and “Rheinpromenade” projects on the former premises of Müncker, a haulage firm, are being developed together with a home for the elderly and cafés. They open up the borough to significant development impulses instead of the industrial ruins that had prevailed. For the officials in charge of the building department, the architectural drafts are equivalent to a ‘quantum leap for Krefeld’, not least of all thanks to their marked revitalisation of the waterfront area.
