Residential Tower along “Spreebogen”
Residential buildingA modern residential tower with 17 apartments distributed across a total of 10 floors is being erected in Charlottenburg, a borough of Berlin, directly on the banks along the “Spreebogen”, a bend in the River Spree. The fundamental concept is based on the idea of a solitaire whose geometry follows the curve-shaped course of the Spree. As a result, the horizontal levels are offset floor by floor, creating spacious outdoor areas at the respective corner points of the building’s structure. Visual axes are opened up due to this architectural concept, not only across the Spree but especially along the river’s course. The natural fluctuations in the landscape segue to merge with the design language of the draft. The façade design is defined by a glass façade enhanced with large projecting balcony slabs. This enables a visual continuity between the interior and outdoor areas. Each of the apartments extends from north (view of the Spree) to south (view of the city) and has circumferential terraces with integrated beds for plants. In the direction of the Spree, the maisonette apartments and the penthouse are additionally fitted out with two-storey “airspaces” that make a distinctive impact on the northern view. The start of construction is scheduled for 2023, completion is supposed to occur in 2024.
